This course provides an overview of 5G network that focuses on 5G ecosystem and its applications in advanced manufacturing.

Course Objective

This course aims to expose participants to 5G network, its ecosystem and understand the role of Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC) in driving technological transformation in Singapore’s manufacturing sector. It also guides participants to learn industrial networks and the role of 5G in the manufacturing domain.

Course Outline

By the end of the course, participants will be able to: 

1. Explain different 5G wireless technology in industrial network e.g. enhanced Mobile Broadband(eMBB), massive Machine Type Communications(mMTC), etc
2. Explain the 5G difference in technology from 4G.
3. Explain the technologies used in 5G such as Understand Multi Radio Access Technology and Multiple input Multiple Output (MIMO), Network Slicing.
4. Summarize key service areas of 5G, use cases and applications.
