Course Introduction:

This course is designed to introduce Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to the different components of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) requirements of the various ESG international standards. SMEs will be able to establish their baseline ESG through the use of standard templates and automated solution.

Course Objective

This course introduces participants to the different components of the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) requirements and reporting standards In particular, it will guide those who are tasked with ESG and sustainability responsibilities to develop a baseline ESG policy, data collection, analysis and reporting through pre-created templates, automation and visualisation tools through Singapore Polytechnic's Business Innovation Centre’s (BIC) sustainability solution.

Course Outline

Course Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the Course, participants will be able to: 

  1. Prepare a sustainability report in accordance to standards, frameworks and guidelines.                                                             
  2. Assess materiality affecting decisions, actions and performance of an organisation in sustainability reporting.

Topics to be covered

  1. Identify the different components of ESG requirements and reporting standards 
  2. Develop an ESG overview policy
  3. Identify the key components of Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption and develop a baseline policy 
  4. Identify other essential social concerns and develop a baseline social policy
  5. Identify the key requirements of green procurement and develop a baseline policy
  6. Examine the carbon emission footprints within the organisation and data collection approaches
  7. Develop a sustainability report 
  8. Establish a baseline ESG system through data collection, analysis and reporting utilising pre-created templates, automation and visualisation tools.
