Course Introduction:

This course will provide participants with the much needed understanding of what constitutes sustainability and the importance of adopting sustainable practices at the workplace. 

Course Objective

This course aims to provide participants with a broad-based understanding of sustainable development and the importance for organisations to adopt sustainable practices. It will also enable participants to explore how different industries have embraced Singapore’s Green Plan and how organisations have adopted green technologies and practices for sustainable living.

Participants will also be exposed to the social dimension of sustainable development and appreciate what it means to protect and prioritise the rights and well-being of human capital. The course will also facilitate an understanding of standards governing sustainable practices, and offer participants the opportunity to design a project that incorporates sustainable practices relevant for their industry.

Course Outline

Course Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the Course, participants will be able to: 

  1. explain the underpinnings behind sustainable development and the reasons for adopting sustainable practices at the workplace
  2. describe the social dimension of sustainable development and what it means to protect and prioritise the rights and well-being of human capital
  3. explore how different industries have adopted green technologies and practices for sustainable living 
  4. recognise the standards and rules behind sustainability governance
  5. design a project that incorporates sustainable practices for the workplace

Minimum Requirements

Minimum two (2) years working experience

Certification / Accreditation

• Certificate of Attendance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who meet at least 75% attendance rate

• Certificate of Completion (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants who pass the assessment and meet at least 75% attendance rate
