Organisations need to protect their digital assets and infrastructure. IT employees need to be cyber security-savvy so that they can play their part in securing the organisation’s network and systems infrastructure.
While there are many instructor-led cyber security courses being offered today, not many of them are lab-based. To pick up the technical skills in cyber security, it is essential that learners have opportunities for hands-on practical sessions.
This course will be practical-based with hands-on examples for trainees to try out how attackers can possibly gain access and steal data from improperly managed systems. Learners will understand how to avoid such system misconfiguration.
In the ICT Skills Framework, the course will cover skills in Security Assessment and Testing (Proficiency Level 2)
The focus of this course is on fixing VA scans on internet facing servers. Participants will be given hands-on practical skills on network protocols, software vulnerabilities, and basic penetration testing knowledge to protect computer and network resources.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Achieve competency in interpreting VA reports, fixing reported vulnerabilities and verifying fixes
- Fix common weakness such as SSL/TLS ciphers configuration and web applications vulnerabilities
