Course Objective

The course is designed to equip participants with the following set of Human Resources (HR) knowledge and skills to improve efficiency and effectiveness across the various HR functions. They include user-centric design-thinking tools, such as HR analytics, and techniques to overcome system, processes, procedure, and policy challenges. Talent acquisition, workforce development and productivity, and employee engagement are some covered examples, with Positive Psychology also applied through coaching. Participants will, as a result, be equipped to effectively engage employees and manage their work relationships, maximising their potential and overall performance in an organisation.

Course Outline

The course is a One-Year Part-Time programme. It consists of 2 Post Diploma Certificates (PDC) conducted over 2 semesters, 1 PDC per semester. The first PDC to start with is PDC1. The classes are conducted in the evening.

This course consists of 2 post diploma certificates (PDCs). Each PDC comprises three modules and the details are as follows:

PDC 1 Certificate in Future Skills in HR
Module 1 - Applied HR Technologies
Module 2 - HR Innovation through Design Thinking
Module 3 - Applied HR Analytics

PDC2 Certificate in Positive Psychology
Module 1 - Introduction to Positive Psychology
Module 2 - Positive Organisations & Work
Module 3 - Coaching Psychology for Managers

Module Exemption
Participants who had completed Specialist Diploma in Workplace and Career Counselling course will be granted exemption for modules “Introduction to Positive Psychology” and “Coaching Psychology for Managers” when they enrol into this course.

Minimum Requirements

Diploma qualification, in any related area, of HR from recognised institutions

Applicants, from other disciplines, must have at least 1 Year of relevant working experience

Recognition of Prior Learning

Those, not meeting the entry requirements, may apply by producing evidence of at least 5 years relevant working experience in the area of HR or supporting information to ascertain their competency readiness. Shortlisted applicants may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test.

The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist eligible applicants and admit those who perform well in the interview and/or entrance test.

Certification / Accreditation

Upon completion of two Certificates within a two-year validity period, participants will be conferred a Specialist Diploma qualification from Singapore Polytechnic.

Partnership with Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP) on “Through Train” pathway to IHRP Certified Professional (IHRP-CP) Certification

NSEHR graduates can choose going on the through-train pathway to IHRP CP Certification, with exemption of Experience Assessment (EA). IHRP recognises this Specialist Diploma course as counting towards the HR training hour eligibility criteria for CP certification, as well as CP re-certification.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Hours Tracking

IHRP-certified professionals can log CPD hours when participating in this module. Upon completion, you can log in your CPD hours via the IHRP Portal.
